Technology plays an integral role in our office. We continuously invest in our equipment to assure that we have the best tools available on the market to help provide results for our patients. At the same time, we realize that even the best technology is only as effective as the technician operating it, and not all new technology provide superior results to their classic counterparts. We only use equipment that  provides consistent, exceptional results we expect from all of our work. 

Here is a list of recent additions we have made to our office:

The Heliodent Digital X-Ray: The Heliodent X-Ray system is the top rated and the most popular in the world. We have upgraded our reliable and efficient Heliodents with Practiceworks/Kodak Digital software, which allows us to use our computers to produce x-rays faster, pass them between our operatories instantly and use filters to analyze the x-rays in ways that were not previously possible. This is a true state of the art system, and allows us to intergrate our x-ray records into our larger digital network. This is available in all our operatories.

The AcuCam Concept IV Intra-oral Camera: This is the top-rated intra-oral camera due to its high resolution, diverse features, "true color", and because "it is one of the smallest cameras on the market". With this we are able to explore your mouth more accurately than with basic tools, and we can also allow you to see into your mouth from our perspective. The camera provides video feeds directly into our monitors, takes digital photographs, and gives us images that can be magnified up to 110 times. It is fully intergrated into our network, and is available in all our operatories.  

The DIAGNOdent Laser Caries Detection Aid: Prevention is the most effective form of dentistry. The DIAGNOdent helps detect cavities before they become difficult to repair.  Previously, dentists could only identify fully formed cavities. With this advance, we can find and treat cavities before they have formed, preventing serious damage from occuring, and often avoiding fillings entirely. This saves you money, time and hassle, and protects your teeth more effectively. The DIAGNOdent is used during all of our check-ups. 

The ZOOM! In-Office Whitening System: The Zoom Whitening System is an effective and safe way to whiten your teeth. After requests from patients to offer in-office whitening, Dr. Cournot researched the available brands and decided that the Zoom 2 (Zoom's newest light) was the best option currently on the market. While Dr. Cournot still prefers the custom tray whitening for long-term results, Zoom is excellent because of its immediate effect, affordability, and ease of application. Visits only require three 15-minute applications, and appointments last about one hour. The appointment also comes with take-home applications to further enhance the effectiveness of the light.
